Barcelona 2
Barcelona Part 1
The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.
Maya Angelou
On Friday I visited Prizren, presenting the undergraduate exchange program to students in the city. It was about an hour and a half drive there and a bit of a gloomy day. I was pleasantly surprised by the great atmosphere at the presentations—we were welcomed. Here’s a link to some photos that one of the places took: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.217170998355598.53952.119849024754463&type=1
Prizren is the city that everyone told me to visit in Kosovo. This beautiful place with an Ottoman feel. I’m glad I had the chance, because there is a wonderful mix of architecture and history. We didn’t get to the castle on the hill, but it was quite a backdrop.
The return trip took much longer—lot’s of traffic and poorly lit roads. We also saw a number of KFOR trucks on the road throughout this journey.
Maybe I’ll get some video up here, eventually.
And this is Skopje…a 3 hour visit thanks to Ukraine’s new visa laws…
From another day roaming Pristina…
Kosovo Days 1 and 2
Yesterday was a whirlwind. I’m not quite sure that I experienced too much of Kosovo.
But today, I have been able to explore. I spent the morning wandering the streets and taking photos. I wasn’t sure where I was headed, but was quite happy where I ended up—each time. My photos are in the previous post, just a few for now. I’m sure there will be more to come.
So many memories…wishing we could “turn back time”
Bon Iver, Recorded Live In Concert : NPR
I would have loved to spend my evening on Aug 2 at the 9:30 club to hear this. Since my first listen in 2008, I’ve adored the sounds of Bon Iver. Sublime. Wish every work day could be filled with this as my background.
